SPM is over!

Lombardi once quoted, "Winning is not a thing. It's an all thing."

And that's what I felt now. That moment when I got announced and proclaimed by the school about my SPM result.

It's cool, It's awesome.... AWWWW YEAH!

It's 7A, 3B. I am at top of the world right now. How cool is that?

BY the way, with the SPM result already been obtained, I am going to get into the next level.

Up to recently, I've been searching on what I will go to next. Mainly, there are five options I can make, but only one can be chosen.... for real. They are STPM, Matriculation, Diploma, A Level, Foundation and finally.... Straight to University, Which one would be the best choice?

After a long justification, I've found out that :
1. Matriculation
One year study that is for science stream student like me. Though it is just one year, rumors said that the schedules were tight and hard. People who failed there could be expelled out of that school. Some of these flunked-outs were in fact students that got 10As better than mine in SPM. (WTH?!) The most chosen Matriculation here in Malaysia is KPM Matriculation. Actually, the program also offer two year study, but it's for someone who wanted to be pro on computer system. For more info, visit this website regarding Matriculation.

2. Diploma
This is another league - With chance to enrol into university with one year study almost instantly. Students who sign up for this study only specific subjects, and that will be easier because they wouldn't have to concentrate on other subjects. However, it is time-consuming : three years... longer than Matriculation and the rest of the options I mentioned just now. Right now, there are varieties or Diploma Programs offered by both private and even government entities. Once the student finishes the Diploma, he or she will enter the university at second year, far ahead than students who just finished the Matriculation, STPM and the others.

I guess this will be some of the reactions that Diploma students will launched out on us when we (not Diploma) met them in University.

3. A-Level
STPM in private form. However, it did not offer STPM for students. 90% of Non-Malay citizens here in Malaysia went through this course (according to recent statistics). The time taken for the course can range from one year, two years, and even six months,,, shorter than Diploma. Some of the A-level schools are like Sinar Bakti and etc. I am not quite interested on this option and now I'm going to touch about STPM.

4. STPM
Its other name Malaysian Highest Examination Certificate. The hardest, yet if the students could achieve it, they could secure themselves anywhere. STPM is hardest, as it takes one year and a half, and then during that time, they must come back to their same alma mater again, and had to cram themselves with a lot of chapters. Once ago, I saw my older brother carrying huge books, and it seems that he excelled through it depsite too many books.... and too thick of them.

5. Foundation
Same like Diploma, only study certain subjects, and only take one year. However, it takes place in certain place.... and only for students who aced on SPM.

6. Straight to University
Okay, this one could be the coolest. Straight to University. If you are the ace of SPM, the try to apply on UPU. There are many courses you can take from there.... but you must be careful, as the courses you took will determine your life after university. Good news about this option was that you don't need to go to any other options anymore.... you're done already, right? You're in uni already, right? Then, why should you enter STPM again? So waste-lah!

Okay, that's all I can say. All these are based on what I read and justified after two days of researches yesterday. See you in another post.

Ironically, we, the ex-students of SPM 2011, are like these - running like in high looking for the next stage.
No offense!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Chang Ku Lu Chang
Chang Ku Lu Chang
Chang Ku Lu Chang Kun Kun Chang Kun Chang

It was some intense night, right? I bet if you live in place where Chinese People thrived, you'd probably heard explosion endlessly riddled the night. But that's alright... It's normal. They're now having their own version of New Year.

Chinese People called this as the Beginning of the New Year and Luck. According to the Chinese themselves, they believed by celebrating these, they would get more prosper and luck by days to come, either for themselves and for glory. There has been many things associated with this celebration, though I'm not a Chinese myself.

Look at this video first before we get started.

You must watch this from start to end to know why this celebration is MEMORABLE and HEARTENING.

I've learnt many things about this celebration based on my own experience with them. Let me jolt some of them here :
1. They cannot sweep their house for three consecutive days, as sweeping the floor during the three days will sweep away luck.
2. They might be blowing some firecrackers at night. The Chinese believe that burning these stuffs can drive demons and ghosts away.
3. Ever heard of Lion Dance?

It's dance that drives demon away. According to their tradition, there are evil spirits that try to scare the villages. A lion appears to scare them away.

4.Sweet, this one's the most delighted to be heard of  - RED PACKET!!!!
The married people will give red packets to the children. The red packet contains money, usually huge sum of it. Don't forget to grab them!

5. Chinese New Year Eve Dinner
This usually done during midnight. It involves the whole family. It's a family reunion that encourages brotherhood and Harmonics among the family members.

6. Orange
We all always see this during this celebration. Don't deny it, you've been eating since last Monday, right?
The Orange also signifies luck and prosper among the Chinese.

So, what're you waiting for? Let's enjoy this Chines New Year, be it Chinese or non-Chinese. This celebration would not just making families tighter and more peaceful, but also casts Harmonics to non-Chinese community. Remember, 1Malaysia!

Last words, Happy Chinese New Year to all Chinese Readers, wish you all a very good luck and prosper this year. One more thing, don't forget eat your oranges and soon as possible, as they're gonna get bad if you all don't do so.

P/S : Ah, S**t! I forgot to post TWGOK and HTT again!

SOPA PIPA What else?

I bet you guys have heard about Wikipedia blackout.

I bet you guys too heard about more than seventy blogs and websites making 'demo' by blacking out.

And, I bet you all know realize the sudden disappearance of Megaupload, as if it's Suzumiya Haruhi no Shioutsu in internet version, and also Megaupload version.

I don't know a lot about SOPA and PIPA, but what obvious is one.

I am not from US; I am from Malaysia.

As long as these stuffs don't affect my usual Anime, Manga and Mp3 Download routine, I shall say

But if these stuffs did inversely on my routines, I will say "I hope you'll get hell of a time".

Let me tell you all about what I know about these acts, considering I've been reading a lot about it since Wednesday.

SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) were legislated by the US since December 2011. The aim is to prevent piracy of stuffs via internet as well as copyright. However, I think, and I think you may know it, almost 9/10 of the world hated to know the fact that their lovely Megaupload.com gone extinct because of this.

The Advantage of SOPA :
1. Copyright Protected
2. Less risk of loss because no more bootlegging.
3. Their royalties and survival of their ideas guaranteed.

The Disadvantage of SOPA :
1. 50:50 chance that we will see the word 'free download' no more.
2. Bad news for you guys who love anime - Megaupload, while includes Megavideo, disappeared. Free animes will be extinct, and we all will have to do nothing but to save up to buy DVD animes.
3. Your ideas will be rejected
4. If you post any links for download to the web regarding people's idea, you will be made shish kebab by the US. Probably, you'll be ended up banned, or given severe punishment.

As I look into it, I realize the fact that disadvantage is over advantage. And according to the news, this act will commence at February (Leave a comment if I'm wrong).

So guys, listen up. Today I will shut this blog down for while. I'm supporting against SOPA, and until Sunday Morning in Malaysia time, This blog will be like 30 Days of Night in my own version, sadly I don't how to do so, so please leave a comment on how to do so, okay?

See ya in Sunday.

Miao! I feel an urge of a dragon to write!

Soon, I'll start another fanfic anime crossover story. That'll be after K-ON storytime.

By the way, how's life? It has been three days on a row since I did not update the blog. For this while until May 2012, there will be more post than ever.

Today, let's talk about cyber-bullying.

Ryan Patrick Halligan was having a real deal of pain that day. Words come all around his school about him being a gay. A popular girl in his school pretended to like him before crushing him from the inside. To make things worst, a friend who once bullied and befriended with Halligan once again, was giving him one hell of a time by posting the gay rumor throughout the internet. Unable to cope, Halligan killed himself.

But that's not just the case of cyber-bullying. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF THEM on this planet, and it's getting more hostile when Facebook appears.

The most suitable definition of cyber-bullying is 'bullying a person using the mean of ICT via internet, phone and anything related'. It is another whole new world of bully where no one could survive for long, even if they turn the computer off. Targets of the cyber-bullying were vulnerable, and they can't survive for long, since they themselves cannot even stay far from computers, cell phones, or anything nowadays, just as we all know it.

Cyber-bullying even targets celebrities. Two Korean pop stars committed suicide after anonymous people posted their nude pictures at web. I would love to show it, but it'll disrespect the dead, so let's say may the restless souls rest in peace.

So there's one question : Why cyber-bullying?

That's a good question. My opinion, the bullies would want to be like the new version of Jack the Ripper, which his identity stay anonymous and mysterious until now. When they are on cyber world, they wouldn't have to be themselves. They could change their names to everything. With their names unknown by people, they would feel that they could nail someone without themselves being tailed of, nor detected by others, including their parents. For this reason, they will become more hostile and the next time you see these bastards, you'll them posting things that you don't want other people to know. They could even post things that could ruin your life, and that was kind of epic fail.

On 3rd November 2002, a Canadian kid made a video of himself swinging a golf ball retriever like a lightsaber. He was trying to impersonate Darth Vader in Star Wars. However, the video was recorded secretly and discovered by some of his friends before the video was taken to Youtube. It was a huge hit that the kid was extremely demoralized and eventually ended up in hospital. Ironically, that video becomes a huge hit in Youtube until now.

See? That's cyber-bullying.

As we all know, normal schoolyard bully ends after school. The pain you get from the bullying session may be unbearable, but that's physical and mental effects that would diminish within short time. Bruise and wound heal so fast thanks to the mitosis. But in cyber-bullying, it's 24/7, 365 a year. There's no way out for the victim. It's like the one was surveyed eternally by eyes that wouldn't shut even for second. The pain, it's not just unbearable, it's never ending. It'll you to Hell of your life. The bruise is not visible but scarred your heart permanently, like an Indonesian old saying goes, "Once the coal is drawn on your forehead, you will remember it for life".

Although most teens have known this threat, 98% (and sadly that includes me) of them always take this for granted. Like I just said, the teens seldom to go far from their Facebook, afar from their mobile phone. The bullies would find it very strategic and profiting as they know by using these, they don't just successfully pawn their victims anonymously, they also would find this way 'low cost' and or even free. Just imagine, Facebook don't even cost when sign up or sign in, isn't it? Text messaging service for the cell phone could take cost, but today, it's 1 cent for one SMS (in Malaysia). The bullies could even go far by using a specialized phone to call their victims using their voice modified so the victims would not know who the hell the provokers are.

Okay, what's the solution?

That's simple. For me, as a veteran (Ceh!) who has multiple Facebook and a blog (This one!), there's only four steps for you to make sure these stupids won't mess up your lives, possibly saving your lives from suicide hell.

1. Stay away from the ICT stuffs. If you don't, they'll tail you forever.
2. If you think you're brave enough, hack them. If you find them, you'll know what to do. Follow your instinct
3. Delete them from your friend list. If not, delete your account permanently. Don't worry, it's free to sign up Facebook right?
4. If all these fail, one suggestion : Consult to experts. They consist of parents, teachers, and POLICE. These people will make sure there's heaven for you and a permanent hell for those who thrash your life.

Well that's all for today. I hope these simple things would give us some insights about cyber-bullying. There's a lot of things I would like to stress out about this, but times running out. Moreover, it's already night time in Sabah, and I felt sleeeeeeppy. My apologies if some of my words above looked 'offensive', but that's the truth about these people who never think how precious you can be.

Okay then, see you next post.

Ryan Halligan Patrick (18/12/1989 - 7/10/2003). For the father of this child would might be reading this blog post, I would like to convey my condolence. May your son rest in peace for the better world.

Secrets of Making Your OWN DAY

Assalamualaikum and good evening for all readers.

Recently, I had been reading an interesting book with its strange title - "Rahsia dan Kelebihan Hari Dalam Islam (Secrets and Greatness Of The Day in Terms of Islam)".

It's a very interesting book. Unlike most books, this one has very simple text and easily understood by most people who knows how to read. This book tells us very detailed information regarding the history, benefits and also what's good for that day. Not just that........ this book also tells us a lot about HOW TO MAKE YOUR DAY YOUR OWN DAY, looks nice right?

I've read this book before, and looks like I've got some good information I summarize from that book for you all :

1. Sunday - Most Ulama (Islamic Religious person) assume that Allah swt made seven layers of skies and seven layers of earth at Sunday. If you want to make something new, or trying to do something new, do it on Sunday because God made the Sky on Sunday.

2. Monday - That day, Allah made the Taiyō (Sun) and Tsuki (Moon). If you wish to travel somewhere, then Monday is the nice day to go for. May you safe from anything disastrous during that day.

3. Tuesday - Hoshi (Stars) were born. If you want to remove your dirty blood from your body, regardless from acupunture to anything that drives your dirty blood away, this is the nice day to spill them away. (p/s : In Malay, this terms of removing dirty blood is known as Berbekam)

4. Wednesday - Umi (Sea) and Kawa (River) were made. This day is very suitable to take your medicine. Why? That's because water was made that day.

5. Thursday - Ten (Heaven) and Jigoku (Hell) 'born'. That day too, God makes human wishing to enter Heaven but being fearful going to Hell. Anyone that wishes to make deeds for that day must do it that day! Why? That's because that day is very good to yield something goooooooood.

6. Friday - The Boss among the days. That day, Adam and Eve were made, and so do human next. Therefore, Friday is very important day among the Muslims.

7. Saturday - Moses's journey is related with this day. Therefore, it is a very good day to hunt for something good (NOT FOR SOMETHING BAD!)

Don't believe? Do it now, and you will see the difference. Remember folks - Reading is the only way to differentiate idiocy and intelligence. Every days affect the world. Thus, we should do something to enjoy it........ and as well as preparing ourselves for the AFTERWORLD.

さようならありがとう

Study - What for?

Lately, we have heard much about doing something to our educational system. We hear about pre-education,
we hear about pre-school centre, we hear about scrapping the UPSR and PMR and we hear about starting our children at age 5 for school! All because WE THE ADULTS WANT OUR CHILDREN TO HAVE A BETTER FUTURE, TO BE MORE COMPETITIVE IN THE WORLD.

But who speaks for our young children? Is that what they want?? I don’t remember when I was young I like to go to school?

I prefer catching spiders, fighting fishes and playing  Red Indians and cowboys. I prefer playing Gasing and watching people flying kites.

I did’nt go for Kindergarten, pre-school centre or pre-education. I cried so much the first day I was dragged to school, that was when I was SIX.

Now it is going to be 5! Is that what our young children want? Or is that what they need? Why start them so young? I believe it’s for THE PARENTS , so that they can go to work etc.. NOT FOR THE YOUNG ONES.  What they need is more “Natural” childhood, NOT more “FORMAL” schooling.

If we really want to make them more rounded, creative, happy & intelligent citizens to reach our goal of higher income individuals, WE SHOULD CUT OFF ONE YEAR OF OUR PRIMARY SCHOOLING; ONE YEAR FROM OUR SECONDARY SCHOOLING; TOTALLY DO AWAY WITH FORM SIX.  Our children will come out of secondary school at age 15, ready to go to University.

And if University is a 3 years’ course, they will graduate at 18 ready to take on the world! This is only for starter. And we can then start adjusting our curriculum.

Obviously, these are not my comments regarding school life by Billi Lim, author of Dare to Fail.

Whatever it is, it seems to make sense that we are going to school not for job, but for knowledge.........

Tsunami 2011 - Terrible Incident Since World War II

We all know, what was happening to Japan after a string of earthquakes and tsunami wrecked Japan since 11 March 2011. Right now, another worst case happened - In Daichi Fukushima, nuclear plants melt like butter and about to bomb up just like the one in Chernobyl during 1983 era.

It has been a while before incident like this happened to Japan. According to America itself, the amount of magnitude in Japan was more than people can hold on. Even if there is Doraemon, it'll would never save as many people as it can.

Right now, the government is giving warning to its people in Japan to evacuate Tokyo. And for that reason, there would be no anime and manga release for this week, I suppose.

When I heard these yesterday, I gave a donation of RM 10 (equivalent to one Euro) to International Red Cross. I have done my small part, now it's your turn. Please support the Japanese by donating to one of these below :

Even IGN.com organises a donation cause. Play 24 games in 24 Hours

Thank you for your support. Help Japan!

Anime Crossover - a phenomenon or just stupid fanfic?

Ever seen this logo before? If you had once, you might have know what is this website is all about?

This one is but one of the non-profit website that offers people worldwide to write their own stories based on notable stories made by the real writers. Take Jules Verne's stories at instance. His story, "Twenty Thousands Leagues Under the Sea" had been made into people's own fiction.

Some people made their own plots based on the original creation. When you explore further in Fanfiction.net, many of the writers made their own part of stories based from popular ones, such as their own Harry Potter. In Anime field, there are thousands of them.

However, there are some of them too, that makes crossover in two or more stories at one time. Crossover is defined as a story that plots from two or more characters from different stories. LXG (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) is consisting seven major characters - Vampire, Captain Nemo (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea), Immortal, Invisible Man (Same Title), Tom Sawyer (Mark Twain's storyline), Dr Jekyll and Allan Quartermain. Does these characters remind us about something?

In Anime, any crossover stories made by fans would be more about battles, love-triangle, or maybe some plot changes that come from the real plot itself. In one fanfic Evangelion, a writer uses Asuka Langley Soryu as pilot of Gundam instead of Eva-02. If you want to know more about these crossovers and fanfic made, log on to this website : FanFiction ~ Where Your Imagination Soars

That's all for today!

An Anime Crossover Wallpaper. Some people made their own stories by combining characters above into one.

Tsunami Japan ~ An Unevaded Disaster

3.03 pm Malaysia Time, 11th March 2011 - 8.9 magnitude earthquake strikes northeast Japan and caused dreadful tsunami, killing hundreds of them and more than one thousand people rendered disappeared by the incident.

The incident is not ending just like that. Whole earth was tremored by the incoming waves of tsunami. A warning was issued by government on every nations for their people to get ready as the waves are expected and concerned to be spreading towards Indonesia, Phillipines, Canada, and even Hong Kong. However, none of them got the waves thanks to the damping effect that happens to the wave when they pass through islands by islands, producing little effect of it when it hits the other nations.

In Sabah, Kudat and Putatan (Kota Kinabalu) themselves had sea level rising drastically. This is caused by the tsunami. In Kudat, meanwhile, the people can feel such a horrible 'gegaran' from the naturally-made bomb.

Right now, governments worldwide are going to Japan with hope of crusades - to help the nation.

What can I say about this? Well, the only thing concerned is - will Japan rise up again? Only God knows.

To be continued................

Rate of Reaction in Daily Life

Have you ever wonder how the charcoal can burn easily when in small sizes? Ever wonder why your mom cook small sized foods instead of clumps? Yes, these are all application that human learnt from the art of Chemistry since thousands of years ago.

In Chemistry field, rate of reaction can be defined as how fast or slow, a reactant reacts with another reactants in given time. One such example is how much time needed for hydrogen (H) gas react with diatomic chlorine (Cl) to form hydrochloric acid (HCl).

There are five factors that affects rate of reaction : Temperature, Concentration (for liquid reactant), Surface Area (for solid ones), Pressure (For gasseous) and Catalysts. Presence of these factors can alter the result of the reaction, physically and chemically.

When a chemical reaction occurs, two different molecules will collide on each other. When the molecules collide, activation energy will occur. Depending on the temperature, when it is in equilibrium, a new product based on the reactants will be formed. Take formation of salts for instance. Our food preservatives, table salt, occurs by the reaction between sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and Hydrochloric Acid (HCl).

NaOH (aq) + HCl (aq) = NaCl (aq) + H20 (l)

The rate if reaction in chemistry field was studied over years, and applied on many other fields. One such examples was Contact Process, which produces Sulphur Dioxide by going through a catalyst Iron.

That's all for today!!!
